FILTER BAG CONSTRUCTION

The top and bottom construction of a bag filter involves a variety of possible configurations. The type of cleaning process used by the dust collector determines which configurations will be used in the design of the bag filter. The way to best determine the construction of the bag that you will be ordering will be to take a sample from the application that you will be replacing. In a pulse jet (pulsejet or reverse jet) dust collector, you will generally see a double beaded snap ring, or snap band which are most common amongst the top configurations. In the bottom configurations, you will typically see a double-beaded snap ring, or a snap band. A shaker dust collector top configuration typically includes a loop top, grommet top, strap or tail top, metal hanger or cap, or snap ring. Shaker bottom configurations will usually be a corded cuff with clamp, double beaded snap ring, or snap band. And finally, in a reverse air dust collector, typical top configurations include cap top with hook, corded cuff with clamp, or snap band; while the typical bottom configurations are snap-band.

Universally, among all types of dust collectors, typical top configurations include snap band, raw edge, snap band, loop top, or grommet top; typical bottom configurations include snap band, hem, beaded cuff, over lock disk, and lockstitch disk.
